CHRISTIAN FAMILY CHURCH
INTERNATIONAL, JOHANNESBURG was founded by Drs. Theo and
Beverley Wolmarans in 1979. Having started with a congregation
of just two people, this ministry has seen phenomenal growth
over the years.
Today Christian Family Church has
over 14,000 members and holds four services every weekend to
accommodate those attending. The Worship team, consisting of 25
members, has been acclaimed by many as being one of the best in
the world. The Praise and Worship is dynamic and Holy Spirit
filled. Many cell churches have been established in the local
communities where members can fellowship with other Christians
in homes close to where they live. Members are also greatly
encouraged to form groups based on their Passion so they can use
their spiritual gifts according to their personal style. The
Church has trained up many Pastors for Leadership. Over 250
churches have been birthed from Christian Family Church
throughout Southern Africa, as well as in places as far afield
as Europe, U.S.A., New Zealand, Australia, Mauritius and Kenya.
CFCI has an accredited 3 year Bible School, culminating in the
School of Timothys, where students can become ordained ministers
of the gospel or can simply improve their knowledge of the
Bible.
The Welfare Department of the church
reaches out to the poor and homeless, with teams going into the
orphanages, old age homes, prisons, and other institutions,
bringing clothing, food and items of comfort to the needy. A
dynamic Children’s Ministry provides a safe and secure
environment for children of all ages where they receive a sound
grounding in the Word of God. Children are cared for in an
atmosphere of love and nurturing, with exciting indoor and
outdoor play areas and teachers and care-minders that genuinely
love them. Further expansion programs are taking place all the
time as this Ministry strives to meet the needs of its Members
and the community as a whole.
Recently, after years and years of
planning and dreaming, Christian Family Church finally opened
the doors to its brand new church complex in Bonaero Park.
